Have you ever wanted to learn more about the history of the United States through the eyes of John F. Kennedy? Here is your chance.

The AANA’s CRNA-PAC Committee hosts the elegant Cocktails and Camelot fundraiser event at the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum on Saturday, Aug. 6, 2011, to help kick off the AANA’s 78th Annual Meeting. After enjoying the cocktail reception, participants will be able to take a self-guided tour of the Museum. Buses will leave from the Hynes Convention Center at 6:15 p.m. and return to the Convention Center at 9:30 p.m.

Remaining tickets for the event can be purchased with your AANA registration or at the AANA Annual Meeting registration booth; tickets may be picked up at the CRNA-PAC table in the AANA Annual Meeting registration area. Tickets are $200 for CRNAs and $100 for associate members (students).

While attending the AANA Annual Meeting, stop by the AANA Federal Government Affairs/CRNA-PAC booth in the exhibit hall to learn more about AANA’s Virtual Advocacy Day taking place on Oct. 4, 2011.  “Care to be Counted” in Washington, D.C., on behalf of the nurse anesthetist profession as Congress considers 30 percent cuts to Medicare CRNA and physician payments, rural anesthesia access legislation, and CRNA educational funding. While at the booth, attendees can also “Play for the PAC”  in CRNA-PAC’s first-ever basketball shootout. Top scorer wins an Apple iPad.

The AANA Federal Government Affairs/CRNA-PAC booth #1706 will be open Sunday, Aug. 7 from 3:15 p.m. to 6 p.m.; Monday, Aug. 8 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.; and Tuesday, Aug. 9 from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. For more information, please contact AANA’s Federal Government Affairs office at (202) 484-8400 or info@aanadc.com.

As a separate fund supported by the voluntary contributions of AANA members, CRNA-PAC is dedicated to and passionate about  “advancing the profession of nurse anesthesia through federal political advocacy.” With so much at stake in Congress affecting the profession, CRNAs’ support of CRNA-PAC matters more than ever.
