New to the AANA Annual Meeting? Then maximize the AANA Annual Meeting experience by attending the First-Timers Orientation, a fun and informative event held on Saturday, Aug. 6, 8 a.m. to 9 a.m.
The session, which has been offered for more than 10 years, is a great ice breaker for all attendees, but it is especially informational for first-time participants.
“The First-Timers Orientation is a well-known and popular event that offers a lively introduction to the AANA Annual Meeting,” said AANA Senior Director of Communications Christopher Bettin, MA.
AANA veterans will offer important insights on what attendees can expect to learn during the week in Boston. AANA President Paul Santoro, CRNA, MS, and AANA Executive Director Wanda Wilson, CRNA, PhD, MSN, are among the featured speakers at the session.
“The hour-long session features engaging speakers,” Bettin said. “Attendees will learn from them the lay of the land in an unintimidating but spirited manner, and they will leave energized for the meeting that lies ahead.”
Massachusetts Association of Nurse Anesthetists president Michael Storey, CRNA, MS, will provide a short overview of things to do and sights to see in Boston. Program Committee Chair, Dan Vigness, CRNA, MS, will review the educational offerings that are available to attendees throughout the week, and a representative from the AANA Foundation will highlight opportunities for giving and fundraisers to attend. A representative from SLACK Incorporated, the medical publishing company that produces the AANA Convention Daily 2011, will advise attendees on how to navigate through the Exhibit Hall. Representatives from the Wellness Committee, the AANA PAC, and the student representative to the Education Committee will also speak at the session.
The session is organized by the AANA Public Relations Committee, with committee members Debra Barber, CRNA, MS, and Nelson Aquino, CRNA, MS, serving as co-emcees.
“All newcomers are encouraged to attend the First-Timers Orientation,” Bettin said. “It is a great way to start your week off right.”
