Terri G. Monk, MD, will discuss how to recognize and mitigate the incidence of postoperative cognitive dysfunction (POCD) Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. in Room 6ABC.

Monk, a professor of anesthesiology at Duke University Health Systems, Durham, N.C., will provide evidence on the incidence of POCD in the hospital setting. She will touch on the causes and comorbidities of POCD, giving nurse anesthetists the information they need to recognize patients at risk and to proceed accordingly.

This important, informative session will give nurses an edge in recognizing and reducing the incidence of POCD and providing improved care for their patients.
